Endorsements for Brian
As director of Service for Peace, the lead agent for King County for Global Youth Service Day, I have had the pleasure of working with Brian for the past two years. Global Youth Service Day seeks to empower youth to become lifelong volunteers and engaged citizens of the community. Two years ago Brian contacted us and participated in our campaign by organizing a major project of environmental restoration in West Seattle. This past year he joined with representatives of other major youth service organizations that include the YMCA’s Earth Service Corps, City Year, Earth Corps and Youth Volunteer Corps, among other groups and corporate sponsors on a variety of projects that engaged over 600 youth in community service. Brian is a leader in the field of youth service and an important asset to the community. He is already engaged in public service and is an ideal candidate for greater responsibility." - David Burgess, Service for Peace
"It has been my pleasure to work with Brian Carver on various projects for the International Association for Human Values. His leadership skills, clear thinking and problem solving have come in handy on more than one occasion. His ability to inspire and energize a group is one of his many admirable qualities. Brian is a wonderful leader and I know we are just beginning to see what he is capable of. If elected I know he will do all he can to better Seattle and bring creative solutions for today’s needs." -Denise Richardson, Heroes of Humanity Director, International Association for Human Values
"In 2005 I was sent to Houston, Texas as a part of the International Association for Human Values Hurricane relief team. The place was chaotic. Thousands of evacuees from New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana were packed into the Astrodome and an adjoining convention center. People were in shock, looking for family members, unsure of what to do under such traumatic circumstances in a strange city. Our team of 10 was also a little scattered and in need of some direction. Brian Carver arrived in Houston with a can-do attitude and organizational skills. In a matter of hours our team was organized into small action groups and we went to work. His coordination of our activities allowed us to offer our trauma relief courses to evacuees all over the city in community centers, churches and motels. Brian's ability to maintain a cool head under fire allowed him to listen to the various conflicting suggestions and approaches to serving the people and synthesize a solution that left us all feeling supported and heard. Anyone that can enter a new city, organize a diverse group with a wide variety of interests and achieve success is a person you want on your side. I'm glad to say Brian Carver is on my side." - Zaccai Free, International Association for Human Values
